The Opportunity: Staff Accountant
The Staff Accountant will be required to have a working knowledge
of Financial Statements and how they are inter-connected to assist
in the Budgeting and Forecasting process of the organization. This
position will perform monthly Journal Entries, Account Analyses and
Accruals. Past knowledge operating within a larger Enterprise
Resource Planning (ERP) system (not Quickbooks) like Infor, Oracle,
etc. would be beneficial to the position.
Knowledge of Accounts Payables and Accounts Receivables is also
desirable, as the Staff Accountant may be responsible for aging
analyses and troubleshooting, generating check requests and
payments for vendors, invoicing customers, generating credit memos,
and applying payments from customers.
The Staff Accountant will also assist with internal and external
audits, and will work closely on the bi-annual Sarbanes-Oxley
control testing audits.
Location: Brea, CA
Salary Range:
$54,700- $78,900

guideline only, reflecting a position based in California. Criteria
such as the candidate's qualifications and relevant experience, the
scope of the specific position, as well as market and business
considerations will be evaluated when extending an offer.
Your Challenge:
Maintain and update accounting records and files
Analyze budgets and forecasts
Assist in the review and analysis of expense reports
Examine local tax policies and handle tax payments and returns
Post transactions and categorize records in the general ledger
(e.g. by assets, liabilities and expenses)
Reconcile specific credit and/or bank statements
Analyze transactions with internal and external stakeholders, which
may include commissions and royalties
Assist in month, quarter, and year-end closures
Prepare documents for internal and external audits, including
bi-annual Sarbanes Oxley requirements
Advise customers or vendors on financial issues via email or
phone
Apply new accounting policies and ensure compliance with rules and
regulations
Report to the Unit Controller and work to improve financial
processes
Your Expertise:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
1-5 Years Accounting or Finance experience working in a similar
industry
Excellent use of Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and Outlook
Experience working within an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
System
Strong math skills
Attention to detail
Strong organizational and communication skills
