Principal IT Systems Administrator Raytheon IDS, Fullerton, CA Our IT organization ensures that Raytheon teammates across the globe are able to communicate, collaborate and innovate for customer success. We create leading-edge technology solutions to prevent security threats, protect the integrity of our systems and support Raytheon-s IT infrastructures around the world. System Administrators collaborate across a diverse team to support fast-paced, critical programs with classified information system capabilities. As a System Administrator supporting our programs based in Fullerton, CA, your program teams rely on you to collaborate, provide guidance to define computing requirements and create end-to-end solutions to solve complex IT problems. Success in this role means you are able to develop, implement and maintain secure, cost-efficient environments across various classified programs. Effective System Administrators collaborate and team effectively across functions, also taking on opportunities to serve as project leads and/or mentors to share knowledge across the IT Program Execution team. This position is located in Fullerton CA, with potential for international and/or domestic travel. Capped relocation support is available to the selected applicant if they are eligible per company policy. Budget amount to be discussed at the appropriate stage of our process. An active US Dept of Defense, DoD Secret Clearance is required for this role. Except in rare cases only US Citizens are eligible to obtain US Clearances. - Assure system reliability and performance through monitoring and infrastructure management - Provide system administration and maintenance support on Windows, Linux, and UNIX- based environments in client/server, network and data storage capacities - Respond to online service requests from users - Ensure server and application compliance with security and performance requirements (NISPOM, RMF) - Intimate knowledge of Security Technical Information Guide (STIG) implementation - Convert and upgrade to new systems - Develop and maintain technical and operational documentation to continually improve our computing environments - Superior troubleshooting and technical support abilities with migrations, network connectivity, security policies, and database applications - Understanding of current technologies and ability to evaluate emerging technologies - Engage in knowledge sharing to further develop the overall capability and performance of your technical team Required Skills: - 8 years of experience with Linux/Windows operating systems, including: - Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 10, Windows 2K3, 8, 12 server - Windows System Upgrade Service (WSUS) - Active Directory and group policy management - Data storage and data backup technologies - Virtual computing technologies, vSphere, VMWare - Intimate knowledge of Security Technical Information Guide (STIG) implementation - Convert and upgrade to new systems - Lumension device control - Thin client technologies Desired skills * Ensure server and application compliance with security and performance requirements (NISPOM, RMF) Required Education (including Major): * Bachelor-s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Science, Mathematics or a related field * Significant directly applicable professional experience in a related field will be considered in lieu of a University Degree at the hiring manager-s discretion * Security+ certification is highly desired.
