Job Description:
Maintenance TechnicianSchedule- Mon-Fri 1st shift plus ON CALL
FOR WEEKENDS ONCE A MONTHPayrate: $25 - $30 DOE.-- -Maintains,
services, troubleshoots, repairs, rebuilds, and calibrates plant
electrical and mechanical equipment and systems.Works directly for
Operations Manager with direct contact with the General Management
team, Plant Supervision, and Engineering Manager.In addition to all
tools and equipment available in the Maintenance Shop, must also
use meters, scopes, CRT Test Equipment, various computers, PLC
hardware, and software programs.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE
POSITION: 1. Obtains work assignments and maintenance schedules
from the Operations Manager, or General Management team. 2.
Responsible for the regular inspection and record keeping of
assetconditions, which includes electrical equipment including
motors, generators, control panels, systems, switches, lighting,
circuits and circuit breakers; cleans, maintains, adjusts and
lubricates equipment, taking all safety precautions. ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION (continued): 3. Uses electrical test
equipment, drawings, electrical blueprints, wiring and PLC
schematic diagrams, to install new equipment and diagnose problems
with inoperative equipment; modifies and improves existing
equipment; determines whether temporary continuation of operation
will have any harmful effect on equipment; advises Crew Chief and
Production Supervisor when immediate shut down of equipment is
necessary to minimize damage; determines methods to minimize
interruption of production. 4. Performs temporary or permanent
repairs; corrects defective circuits by determining cause of
failure and replacing circuit components; repairs motors, cranes,
generators, and other equipment; performs mechanical repairs as
required. 5. Stop, starts, and adjusts industrial oven gas and air.
6. 7. Monitors, inspects, and calibrates computer relay systems,
analyzes and make repairs on same. Will train and assist in
development of Electricians in PLC and Electromechanical Systems.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Works with repair crews and outside
vendors on emergency breakdowns; may erect scaffolds and perform
simple rigging as required; operates machine tools such as drill
press, power saw and portable drill and grinder. 2. Is responsible
for housekeeping in shop area and work sites. 3. Actively
participates in quality improvement process. ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
FOR THE POSITION: 1. 4 Year Technical College degree or equivalent
education and experience. 2. Must be familiar with solid state
control system. 3. Minimum of 5+ years of experience working with
PLC--------s and HMI programming. 4. Must be knowledgeable of test
equipment used for trouble-shooting systems. 5. Minimum of 5+ years
with managing direct reports (2-5 EE) 6. Must be able to read
electrical schematics, PLC programs, and act on them. 7. Must have
thorough knowledge of AC/DC equipment, motors, generators, control
panels, switches, lighting circuit breakers, and relay systems,
variable speed drives and programmable controllers. 8. Must have
thorough knowledge of PLC networking with Automax (Reliance)
system, Allen Bradley Processors using RSLogix 500 and 5000
software with linkages between systems. 9. Must have the ability to
troubleshoot, modify, and or re-write ladder logic programs within
processors using RSLogix software. 10. 11. Must have the knowledge
and ability to troubleshoot, repair or replace portions of, or
entirety of, specialized electromechanical systems in hydro,
hydraulic, or pneumatic equipment. Must be familiar with all
applicable codes and proper installation methods. Please call
