sector is looking for you to join our team as an Electrical
Engineering Manager 1 – Section Manager based out of San Diego, CA.
Location : You will work onsite with your team daily in San Diego
CA. Environment : You will get to work in a fast-paced,
cross-functional environment in the Navigation, Intelligence, and
Connectivity Division’s Engineering and Sciences functional
homeroom collaborating with profit & loss, quality, mission
assurance, global supply chain, and business management. Impact :

complex cross-engineering-domain problems. What You'll Get to Do
Team Size : You will functionally manage a team of 12 - 15
engineers in the San Diego Hardware Engineering Department who are
matrixed to support programs in the Connectivity and Networked
Solutions Business Unit. You will be responsible for functional
management and program engineering work (average split of 20% FHR
and 80% program-direct across the year). Functional Management:
Develop your team team’s careers and empower them to achieve
engineering rigor, program milestones/goals in alignment with
company policies and best practices. Perform workforce planning,
staffing, recruiting, and onboarding based on program and FHR
goals. Execute FHR department-developed initiatives at the section
level to improve agility, accountability, and speed in areas such
as training and process tailoring for shorter engineering release
cycle time. Electrical Engineering : Your electrical engineering
design and technical support is approximately 80% directly on
programs involving Communications Navigation Identification (CNI)
systems within our Fighter Networked System (FNS) Operating Unit
(OU). It will align with our program needs and your electrical
engineering background (digital, RF, mixed-signal, HW systems, HW
I&T, Platform integration, HW test engineering – are examples).
Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology,
Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with 5 years of experience
within a related engineering field, or Master’s with 3 years, PhD
with 1 years. Engineering team leadership experience. US
citizenship is required. Current active U.S. Secret DoD clearance.
Strong communication, conflict resolution, interpersonal,
mentoring, and coaching skills. Experience in digital and/or RF
electrical hardware design and demonstrated proficiency in at least
one of the following areas: Digital engineering -
module/CCA/board-level integration and test electrical engineering.
Reviewing/producing schematic designs, drawings, packages, parts
lists, PWB in development . RF engineering -
Module/Subassembly/Filter integration and test. Continuous
improvement for reduced production cycle times and higher yields;
Maturing design spins for producibility, second sourcing, or DMS
resolutions. Responsible Design Engineer or subcontract technical
lead for supplier-built digital, RF, backplane assemblies, platform
or ground segment integration, interconnects and wire harnesses,
Integrated Test Adapaters. Engineering IPT Lead and CAM for
hardware or test infrastructure deliverable. Xpedition, AWR,
Nuhertz, DOORS, HFSS. Industry standards, practices, requirements,
and tailoring in the design lifecycle: IPC, AS9100, ASME, IEEE,
MIL-STD. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience as a HW
Integrated Product Team Lead. Hands-on experience with DoD
communications systems integration and test in labs and fielded
environments. Experience with Earned Value, Control Account
management, risk and opportunity, engineering change management.
Familiarity with other organizational functions such as supply
chain, procurement, logistics, and mission assurance. Familiarity
with CNI hardware subsystems, test infrastructure, and associated
waveforms. SAP Clearance. Primary Level Salary Range: $133,000.00 -
$199,600.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline;
however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when
determining base salary offers such as the scope and
responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience,
education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the
position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift
differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as
well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in
Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term
Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of
benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability
insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off
