We are currently seeking an energetic and motivated Facilities Manager to join our fast-growing organization. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day functions of facilities maintenance, which includes status of repairs, preventive maintenance, maintenance of the inventory, service contract management and calibration.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. - other duties may be assigned

  • Manages the daily work and safety of maintenance and preventive maintenance technicians engaged in building, grounds, sanitation, refrigeration systems, manufacturing/services departments and security.
  • Coordinates emergency response or crisis management activities, develops and maintains liaisons with local emergency management and other entities in order to facilitate plan development, response effort coordination and assists Safety Manager with training initiatives.
  • Coordinates with other departments as necessary to ensure upgrades and repairs are completed efficiently and effectively
  • Develop business relationships to ensure communication and efficient operations with third party vendors, including but not limited to, janitorial, pest services, security, external contractors, fleet and facility maintenance and beverage
  • Recommend capital (CapEx) requests as required
  • Suggests efficiency ideas, cost reduction measures and assists with the implementation of changes within facility maintenance duties.
  • Establishes preventative maintenance schedules for all systems, equipment, and buildings including refrigeration system, HVAC Systems, fire protection and security Systems, electrical and energy management, dock doors/dock plate systems, manufacturing equipment, building components (roof, interior & exterior floors/walls, doors, paved surfaces and landscaping)
  • Manages, assigns and monitors all facility projects for quality and timely completion
  • Conducts audits ensuring all required inspections and documentation are completed accurately in coordination with the quality department.
  • Maintains associate relations through regular department or pre-shift meetings; maintains on-going interaction; keeps open communication channels with associates by answering questions and explaining policies and procedures; monitors associate morale; and submits and respond to ideas to improve associate engagement and enablement
  • Interprets, trains and consistently enforces Company policies and procedures
  • Coordinates efforts with Safety Committee to aid in training, conducting associate observations, up-dating preferred work methods, conducting accident investigations to determine root causes, and routine safety inspections
  • Makes recommendations for disciplinary action and/or behavior modification where required
  • Performs management functions of staff selection, development, discipline, performance reviews and/or terminations
  • Performs the duties of associates supervised and other related duties as needed
  • Complies with local, state and federal regulatory agencies.


    QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
    • High School diploma or general education degree (GED); five years maintenance management experience
    • Minimum 5 years' experience in Facilities/Preventative Maintenance within a Medical Device Manufacturer Environment-Preferred
    • Must possess a valid state Driver's License
    • Certificate, licenses, and registrations in refrigeration/HVAC -required
    • Basic understanding of Pneumatics and Hydraulics.
    • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
    • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and the general public.
    • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
    • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
    • Working knowledge of refrigeration Freon systems
    • Working knowledge of environmental regulations/legislation and governing bodies
    • Ability to successfully engage and lead individual and team discussions and meetings
    • Ability to apply all relevant policies in a consistent, timely and objective manner.
