Job Description:

*Responsibilities** Manage the payroll shared service function and support system users for domestic and international subsidiaries* Provides direction and assistance to department staff regarding payroll processes with an overarching focus on building individuals skillsets and advancement in their career* Leads projects and corporate initiatives effecting the payroll department* Is responsible for all aspects of payroll cycle, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government, state and local regulations* Approves Associate Managers assessment of workload allocation within the Payroll department* Manage the payroll processing of domestic and international payroll ensuring timely transmission of payroll files to third party payroll providers (eg ADP and Ceridian) for employee pay* Provide guidance and support to all payroll staff on payroll methods and procedures, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in the process* Address questions or issues in a timely manner* Lead department projects as assigned by the Director of Finance and Accounting* Set department performance and development objectives* Ensure team members acquire necessary skills and performance attributes, in line with business and personal development needs* Drive department objectives and prepare staff annual performance reviews* Manage the month-end close process of payroll processing* This includes the review and posting of journal entries including but not limited to: monthly payroll posting by department, vacation liability accruals, Ontario sick pay adjustments, payroll cash payment/bank recon, reclassifications and other routine journals as deemed necessary* You will ensure all steps in the month end close process are completed by each team member* Ensure deadlines are met in the record to report continuum* Review updated necessary payroll rule changes in payroll/timekeeping system (performed by Associate Manager) such as changes in payroll schedules, and updates in payroll reporting compliance with regulatory agencies* Develop, propose and implement new policy and procedures to enhance the workflow of the department, while maintaining a high level of accuracy and compliance with federal, state, local and collective bargaining agreements (CBA) requirements* Review updated payroll desk manuals and standard operating procedures with Associate Manager for completeness and accuracy* Be an exemplary business partner to Human Resources, Corporate Management, Plant Controllers and other leaders in the organization* Resolve issues and serve as a resource for payroll and timekeeping policies and procedures* Manage the US W-2 and Canadian T-4 Yearly tax filing, ensuring submissions are filed timely* Stay abreast of upcoming government deadlines and filing changes*Qualifications** Bachelor's Degree in related fields or equivalent experience, including a minimum of 5+ years of full cycle payroll experience required* Must have a working knowledge of payroll compliance requirements* Experience coaching, leading and mentoring employees* Ability to travel 5% domestically* Through knowledge of payroll processing requirements and excellent communication skills* Ability to perform arithmetical and algebraic calculations to perform payroll activities* Ability to accurately interpret and apply policies, procedures, and laws related to payroll activities* Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products* Excellent oral and written communication skills* Interpersonal skills necessary to deal courteously and effectively in sensitive and confidential issues by telephone, in writing, and in face-to-face contacts with employees at all levels* Strong customer service orientation* Desire to create and implement process improvement initiativesJob Type: Full-timePay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per yearBenefits:* 401(k)* Health insurance* Paid time offSchedule:* 8 hour shift* Monday to FridayAbility to commute/relocate:* Brea, CA: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)Experience:* Payroll: 5 years (Preferred)Work Location: One location
