THE ROLE
Avocado is currently looking for a Director of IT to lead the
Technology team. You will be reporting to the Senior VP of
Executive Strategy.
The Director of IT will manage and direct the company's information
technology (IT) operations, ensuring the department provides
efficient and effective technical support service. This role will
work closely with leaders in other departments to identify,
recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective
technology solutions for all aspects of the organization.
*Note on Location: Here at Avocado Green Brands, we treasure
teamwork and working together in person. Depending on the role, you
will be working on-site at one of our Fullerton locations.
*Note on Pay Transparency: As of January 1, 2023,California-based
roles must provide a pay scale on job postings. The pay range for
this role is $140,000.00 - $180,000.00 Yearly DOE.
WHAT YOU'LL BE WORKING ON
- Developing and implementing IT strategies: responsible for
developing and implementing IT strategies that align with the
organization's goals and objectives.
- The Director of IT collaborates with all department heads to
build technology strategies to support avocados strategic goals,
priorities and initiatives.
- Managing IT operations: responsible for managing the
organization's IT operations, including hardware, software, and
networks.
- Leading IT staff: responsible for managing and leading the IT
team, including hiring, training, and mentoring staff.
- Budgeting and financial management: responsible for managing
the IT budget and ensuring that IT projects are delivered within
budget.
- Ensuring security and compliance: responsible for ensuring that
the organization's IT systems and data are secure and compliant
with industry regulations and standards.
- Evaluating and implementing new technologies: responsible for
evaluating new technologies and implementing them to improve the
organization's IT infrastructure and operations by partnering with
the business to identify business requirements.
- Building relationships with stakeholders: responsible for
building and maintaining relationships with internal and external
stakeholders, including business leaders, vendors, and
customers.
- Developing and implementing disaster recovery plans:
responsible for developing and implementing disaster recovery plans
to ensure the organization's IT systems can recover from a disaster
or outage
- Be a "hands-on" leader and manage and support daily IT
operations needs.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of
networks, firewalls, cybersecurity monitoring platforms, security
systems, and on and off-premise IT services across all commission
offices and remote staff.
- Define and execute strategy for employee computing needs,
hardware and software selection, , cybersecurity configurations,
telecommunications and mobile technologies, employee training, and
onboarding, etc..
- Forecast hardware and desktop software requirements for Avocado
and recommend software, hardware, and other system products.
- Manage and maintain Network services, Server administration,
and LAN.
- Develops and maintains relationships with external IT vendors
and service providers.
- Ensures compliance with all software licensing agreements.
- Analyzes IT infrastructure and systems performance to assess
operating costs, productivity levels, upgrade requirements, and
other metrics and needs.
- Coordinates multisite IT systems via enterprise resource
planning (ERP).
WHAT YOU BRING
- Bachelor's degree in technology related field or equivalent
experience.
- Minimum of 7 years' experience in the field of Information
Technology with at least three in a supervisory capacity.
- Experience with Net Suite by Oracle or similar ERP.
- Proven knowledge, experience and a history of success in
operational management.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills (verbal and
written).
- Ability to effectively communicate internally and
externally.
- Regular and predictable attendance.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Stationary position: Must be able to remain stationary 50% of
the time.
- Move: This role involves moving throughout the office to meet
with different team members/
- Operate: Constantly operates a computer and other office
machines such as printers and tablets.
- Communicate: This role frequently communicates with other team
members to update on the status of a task.
