Job Description:

The Governmental Audit Manager (Public Accounting Firm) will be responsible for managing the planning, execution, and reporting of financial budget audits, financial preparation, evaluating internal controls, for local governments. You will be part of a team of auditors working closely with a government municipalities to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and to identify areas for improvement in the governments operations and financial management.

• Plan and oversee financial preparations, annual budget audits, evaluating Internal Controls, external audits of local governments ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and identifying areas for improvement in the agency's operations and financial management.
  
• Lead a team of auditors, providing guidance and direction on audit assignments, and ensuring timely and quality completion of audit work.
  
• Work closely with the agency being audited to establish audit objectives and scope, and to ensure that audit findings and recommendations are accurate and well-supported.
  
• Review audit workpapers, reports, and other deliverables to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with professional standards.
  
• Provide input into the development of audit policies, procedures, and methodologies.
  
  
  REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  
  • 
    
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
    
  • A minimum of 3+ years experience in local government auditing, including experience managing audits and leading audit teams.
    
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
    
  • Professional (CGAP) designation preferred.
    
  • Strong knowledge of auditing standards, procedures, and principles.
    
  • Knowledge of government operations and financial management
