We integrate biology with cutting-edge scientific capabilities in peptide discovery, engineering, and computational science to deliver next-generation peptide therapeutics.We are seeking a senior-level computational peptide scientist to develop innovative technologies that accelerate peptide discovery and design. Located at the Lilly Biotechnology Center in San Diego, this role involves leading a small team and developing complex workflows and pipelines for peptide selection, design, and optimization. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and leveraging advanced technologies, you will contribute to groundbreaking peptide therapies.   • Lead the design of bespoke peptide libraries using advanced computational techniques, including bio-/chem-informatics and AI/ML.
  • Develop informatics tools for NGS data visualization and processing to facilitate peptide hit selection.
  • Create computational methods to improve peptide SAR, activity, selectivity, stability, and permeability.
  • Implement advanced computational methods for peptide modeling and optimization, leveraging AI/ML for predictive modeling.
  • Collaborate with peptide groups and multidisciplinary teams to integrate computational strategies in peptide discovery and optimization.
  • Manage codebase and model repositories to ensure reproducibility and collaboration.
  • Stay updated with AI/ML advancements and drive their application in peptide research.
  • Present scientific findings and strategies to internal and external stakeholders.Basic Qualifications:
    • Ph.D. in Computational Chemistry, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience beyond education/postdoctoral training; 10+ years preferred.Additional Skills and Preferences:
      • Expertise in NGS bioinformatics and computational peptide design.
      • Experience with cheminformatics, non-canonical amino acids, and peptide library design.
      • Proficiency in sequence- and physics-based computational tools (e.g., MOE, Schrodinger, Rosetta).
      • Experience in molecular modeling techniques and ML/AI applications in peptides.
      • Programming skills (Python) for data analysis and metric development.
      • Proven leadership in computational peptide discovery projects.
      • Experience managing and developing scientific teams.
      • Knowledge of cloud and high-performance computing environments.
