Job Description:
Reports to: Head of Service Time Requirements: 40 hours per week
The Mental Health Clinician will be a licensed or waivered mental
health professional (i.e. LMFT, LCSW, ACSW), and meet the
requirements of one of the professional disciplines in Sections 623
through 630 of Title 9 of the California Code of Regulations. Under
the Administrative/Clinical Supervision of HCH's Clinical Director,
the Mental Health Clinician will be responsible for ensuring that
the youth in the STRTP receive appropriate mental health treatment
services and that the mental health treatment services are
documented and all required reports are completed timely as
required by this protocol. Specific Job Duties: Under the
Administrative/Clinical Supervision of HCH's Clinical Director, the
Mental Health Clinician specific job duties will include, but may
not be limited to the following: Complete the following upon
admission off each youth/NMD: Assessment and Plan Development:
Intake Assessment, Crisis Management Mental Health Assessment,
Comprehensive Mental Health Assessment with Initial Diagnostic
Summary, and Initial Needs and Service Plan; Coordinate and
Supervise Service Plan Implementation at partnering Mental Health
Service Programs to include: Individual, Group and Family Therapy;
Collateral Services, Monitoring Medication Support Services, Crisis
Stabilization, Arranging for Therapeutic Behavioral Services (TBS),
Family and Child Team meeting support, and Providing/Monitoring
Targeted Case Management activities focused on educational,
physical, behavioral, mental health and extracurricular supports;
Provide Individual, Group and Family Therapy and Case Management
Services to support and supplement specialty mental health services
provided by partnering Mental Health Service Programs. Respond to
Emergencies at the STRTP facilities and provide Crisis Intervention
services. Coordinate and supervise Core Service Implementation for
youth/NMD's to include: Transition Services (placement change)
focused on family reunification, guardianship or relative
placement, Permanency Support after placement change; Transition to
Adult Services and Aftercare Support related to Transitional
Living, College/Vocational Training Placement, and Independent
Living. Ensure provision of or access to Core Services and Supports
for all youth/NMD's in the facility. Contribute to Treatment Team
Meetings, Child and Family Team (CFT) meetings; and Individual
Educational Plan (IEP) meetings; Complete monthly Needs and
Services Plan Updates and Quarterly Reports on each youth/NMD in
the STRTP; Observe and interact with staff, youth/NMD's, and other
individuals, as necessary, to ensure the quality of care of
youth/NMD's and program services. Provide 25 hours of clinical
service to clients weekly. Ensure that all service hours are
accurately documented in EXYM within three days of the services
being provided. All other duties as assigned Education, Experience
and Licensure The Mental Health Clinician shall meet the following
education and experience requirements: Meet the requirements of one
of the professional disciplines in Sections 623 through 630 of
Title 9 of the California Code of Regulations as a licensed or
waivered mental health professional (i.e. LMFT, LCSW, ACSW). A
Master's Degree from an accredited or state approved graduate
school, as defined by the Department of Education, in social work
or social welfare, marriage, family and child counseling, or
counseling psychology. Specific knowledge and expertise in child
abuse and social services systems; trauma-informed care and
providing culturally diverse services; individual and group therapy
theories and techniques, as well as behavioral modification
techniques with youth in a residential treatment setting. All staff
who have contact with the youth/NMD's within the Hart Community
Homes will meet California Community Care Licensing qualifications
and guidelines. They must meet the age and experience requirements,
have a current TB, current physical, and a valid Driver's License,
In-Service Training, Fingerprint Clearance, Child Abuse Index
Check, and Criminal Record Statement. Employment Type: Full Time
