Job Description Position Title: Waiter/Waitress Department: FOH
Reports to: Manager/Assistant Manager and Lead Waiter/Waitress
Supervises: N/A FLSA Status: POSITION SUMMARY Responsible for
serving food and beverages in restaurant efficiently and in a
courteous manner. Carry out all duties in accordance with tasks and
descriptions with reference to established rules and policies.
Perform any other duties as may be assigned by your supervisor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Waiter/Waitress patrons with
food and beverages in a positive and friendly manner. Provides
information to help food and beverage selections. Presents ordered
choices in a prompt and efficient manner. Maintains dining ambiance
with an enthusiastic attitude. Prepares room for dining by clothing
tables and setting decorations, condiments, candles, napkins,
service plates, and utensils. Protects establishment and patrons by
adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control
policies. Helps patrons select food and beverages by suggesting
courses, explaining the chef's specialties, identifying appropriate
beverage pairings, and answering food preparation questions.
Transmits orders to bar and kitchen by recording patrons' choices
and identifying patrons' special dietary needs and special
requests. Keeps kitchen staff informed by noting timing of meal
progression. Serves orders by picking up and delivering patrons'
choices from bar and kitchen and delivering accompaniments and
condiments from service bars. Responds to additional patron
requirements by inquiring of needs and observing dining process.
Maintains table setting by removing courses as completed,
replenishing utensils, refilling water glasses, and being alert to
patron spills or other special needs. Concludes dining experience
by acknowledging choice of restaurant and inviting patrons to
return. Obtains revenues by totaling charges, issuing bills,
accepting payments, delivering bills and payments to host, and
returning change or credit card and signature slip to patrons.
Healthy and Safety Ensure that all potential and real Hazards are
reported immediately and rectified Be fully conversant with all
departmental Fire, Emergency and Bomb procedures Ensure that all
emergency procedures are rehearsed, implemented, and enforced to
provide for the security and safety of guests and employees Ensure
the safety of the persons and the property of all within the
premises by fairly applying Hotel Regulations by strict adherence
to existing laws, statutes etc. Ensure all staff within the
department work in a manner which is safe and unlikely to give risk
of harm or injury to selves or others. Other Duties Please note

sometimes loud noise level. QUALIFICATIONS Incumbents must
demonstrate the ability to follow policies and procedures as

constituent groups, co-workers, and management. In addition, the
education, experience, and other skills listed below are
representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.
EDUCATION High School Diploma or GED equivalent CERTIFICATIONS,
Licenses, and Registrations Current SERVSAFE Certification WORK
EXPERIENCE Previous experience working in the hospitality industry.

detail; Strong problem-solving skills and ability to meet tight
deadlines; Excellent communication skills; A strong base of
culinary knowledge; Strong coaching and people-development skills
