SUMMARY: This position is primarily responsible for sets up and operates machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, boring machines, and grinders, to machine metallic and nonmetallic workpieces by performing the following duties personally or through direction from supervisors. Job Location: Brea, Ca ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reads and interprets technical drawings or job order for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances, and tooling instructions such as fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, depth of cut, and determines sequence of operations. Positions and secures workpiece in holding device, machine table, chuck, centers, or fixtures. Moves controls to position tool and workpiece in relation to each other, and to set specified feeds, speeds, and depth of cut. Sets up fixture or feeding device, starts machine, and turns handwheel to feed tool to workpiece or vice versa, and engages feed. Turns valve handle to direct flow of coolant or cutting oil against tool and workpiece. Observes operation of machine and verifies conformance of machined workpiece to specifications. Sets up and operates machines and equipment other than machine tools such as welding machines and flame-cutting equipment. Saw machine set up and adjusting for each job, along with the set up and turn down of air compression. Determining the appropriate cutting method and proactive seek ways to improve process and cutting method. Utilization of measurement tools to ensure accuracy for each item completed. Complete daily stock inventory records based on usage and actively flag supervisor for any concerns from low stock or issues with material. Unload and store incoming raw materials in station as needed. Maintain equipment and ensure work/stock area---s cleanliness and safety. Perform basic preventative maintenance on saw equipment and daily pre-shift checklist of Machine safety level Assure compliance with appropriate safety practices and procedures with applicable federal, state, and local codes and requirements. Individually assemble full final product on own based on technical drawings through the directory of supervisor. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing results as needed including assembly of final product based on technical drawings with team. Travel to project sites for onsite assembly of lightboxes of final products and minor installation based on technical drawings and direction of project site lead. Proactive, agile, and flexible to support other team members as needed in other work functions as directed by supervisor.
