Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join the
Platform and Infrastructure Services (IS) team in the Battlefield
Radar and Command and Control (RADC5I) software department in
Fullerton, California. The IS team adopts DevOps processes and
other best industry practices to integrate Commercial Off-the-Shelf
platform products with existing and next-generation Command and
Control systems to provide mission critical systems to our
customers.
The Principal Software Engineer will be responsible for supporting
multiple programs and multiple platforms within our C2 software
product line. The Principal Software Engineer will be expected to
perform as an experienced lead contributor and technical subject
matter expert, working as part of a high performing Integrated
Product Team. Responsibilities include platform solution
architecture and design, COTS/FOSS installation, configuration,
integration, and testing, automation of software builds and
deployments, system performance tuning, system security and
hardening, and technical mentoring and oversight of junior
engineers.
There may be travel opportunities to sites across the United States
and internationally to support system integration and test
activities.
Qualifications you must have:
* Typically requires Bachelor's in in Computer Engineering,
Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics,
Electrical Engineering, or other related engineering field and 8+
years of experience OR in absence of a degree, 12 years of
experience. An advanced degree in a related field may be
substituted for additional years of experience
* 5+ years experience as a system administrator, deploying and
supporting mission critical systems on Windows and Linux.
* Experience in the analysis, design, configuration, and
integration of COTS products into existing systems.
* Experience with virtualization tools such as VMWare or VirtualBox
and deploying virtual machines.
* Experience working in a team-focused development environment,
such as Agile/SCRUM.
* The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance
within one year of the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as
only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications we value:
* Microsoft certification, i.e., Microsoft Certified Solutions
Associate (MCSA), Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE).
* RedHat / Linux certification, i.e., Red Hat Certified System
Administrator (RHCSA), Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE).
* Cybersecurity certification, i.e., CISSP, CISA, Security+.
* Expertise in computer networking (including protocols,
multicasting, SNMP) and Cisco routers.
* Expertise with security administration tools including McAfee
products.
* Expertise with Veritas NetBackup.
* Experience with building and deploying containers.
* Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or Certified ScrumMaster
(CSM) certification.
* Experience in a lead system administrator role.
* Experience working in a DevOps environment, including automated
testing and continuous integration and deployment.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including
ability to produce and present technical documentation.

Location Information: This position is located in Fullerton,
California. Fullerton is a short drive from the ocean, in close
proximity to several theme parks, and less than two hours from the
mountains and the desert. Fullerton has a historic and vibrant
downtown, a cultural center, an arboretum, a major public
university, and more than 40 parks and trails.

The salary range for this role is 94,000 USD - 196,000 USD;
however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when
extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and
associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience,
education/training, and key skills.
