Foster Care Outreach Specialist
Position Summary:

Works collaboratively with both the External Affairs and Foster Care team to recruit and retain a pool of

prospective Resource Families appropriate to care for system-involved youth. The work of this position

is to conduct outreach and marketing efforts and generate applications to become Resource Parents.
Essential Duties:

• 
  
• Develop and implement a strategy to recruit resource families who will meet current and
  
  anticipated needs of the agency, including diverse methodologies from marketing, advertising,
  
  outreach, e-newsletters, public speaking, to community networking. The recruiter will utilize
  
  both interpersonal and technological skills to implement these strategies.
  
• Identify methods for targeting prospective resource families who are representative of diverse
  
  ethnicities, religions, sexual orientations, and gender identities.
  
• Maintain basic knowledge of Resource Family eligibility and best practices, trauma-informed
  
  care, Foster Care program needs, and trends in child welfare that impact foster care.
  
• Collaborate with Foster Care Department and Resource Family Recruiter to develop and
  
  implement a strategy to retain existing resource families through initiatives that inform, equip,
  
  support, and recognize caregivers.
  
• Create and lead information sessions for prospective Resource Families, both online and in
  
  person. Ability to lead relevant trainings as needed to recruit or retain Resource Families.
  
• Travel throughout various counties as needed to implement various recruiting strategies.
  
• Prepare, distribute and track effectiveness of a variety of recruitment initiatives.
  
• Track recruitment efforts and a family's process through to transition to Resource Family
  
  Recruiter, using timely and accurate documentation as required by policy, licensing and
  
  contracts.

  Minimum Qualifications
  
  • 
    
  • BA/BS in marketing, communications, public relations or related field.
    
  • Two years' experience in marketing, advertising, public relations (or related field) required.
    
  • Bilingual, Spanish, preferred.
    
    Additional Requirements
    
    • 
      
    • Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted California driver's license and current vehicle
      
      insurance.
      
    • Must have experience utilizing Microsoft Office software and tools for videoconference
      
      meetings.
      
    • Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed to
      
      implement recruiting strategies throughout a multi-county region.
      
    • Must be able to understand and follow policy and procedures.
      
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
