seeking a Mid-Level Industrial Engineer to support Maritime
Undersea Production Optimization in Huntington Beach, CA.Maritime
Undersea (MU) is a growing business focused on delivering complex
solutions from seabed to space. We are seeking a strong
Industrial/Project Engineer to join our team supporting multiple
customers and broad array of products, from unique Integration
Mission solutions to highly capable Autonomous Extra-Large Unmanned
Undersea Vehicles (XLUUV).Under the sea, we are redefining the art

Responsibilities:
- Applies industrial engineering concepts, approaches and
techniques to product, process and services to meet program
requirements.
- Designs, maintains, and optimizes the production system by
integrating design, supply base, facilities, equipment, and
personnel while coordinating work statement and schedule across
several Boeing sites.
- Analyzes and designs value stream, including capability,
capacity (e.g., make/buy, supplier selection, risk analysis,
supplier performance), throughput, work flow and logistics (e.g.,
critical path, lead-time, transportation, factory layout).
- Recommends new techniques and technological developments for
integration into the production process and service
operations.
- Research, design, development, improvement, and implementation
of complex processes and tools to enhance schedule performance,
lower cost, and improve quality, for large scale systems
integration and asset utilization
- Develops models, databases and spreadsheets to analyze data and
provides summary analysis and metrics to solve complex problems and
provide consultation to senior leadership and customers.
- Evaluates product assembly instructions and standardizes
assembly practices.
- Operations planning, includes work statement analysis,
budgeting and forecasts, capacity and constraint analysis and
production change, to ensure technical goals and objectives are
met.
- Execution planning by using project management, planning and
scheduling and shop load practices.
- Consults on production, supply chain logistics, performance
visibility and recovery planning support for a program.
- Supports efforts to develop, implement, maintain and monitor
status of shop operating plans to improve the efficiency of
equipment and personnel in order to meet schedule commitments.
- Gathers and analyzes shop performance metrics in order to
support a recommended plan of action.
- Works in dynamic, Model Based Design environments focused on
product development
- Develops animations & simulations of the manufacturing build
plan to communicate, analyze and optimize the virtual build
- Follows product transition from design phase to build phase and
supports Production Operations in the execution of the build
planThis position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected
candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed
location.This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S.
Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S.
Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance
Post-Start is required.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and
Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree or higher in engineering, computer
science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
- 5+ years of experience in an engineering role (or Master s and
3+ years of experience).
- 3+ years of experience in Data Analytics
- 3+ years of continuous improvement experience
- 1+ year of experience leading projectsPreferred Qualifications
(Desired Skills/Experience):
- Experience working with Industrial and Systems engineers
- Experience in a team environment
- Team Leadership (formal/informal) experience
- Experience as a CAM (cost account manager) using EVM (earned
value management) and develop and maintain earned value baselines
and status to plan for production environments
- Experience managing projects and using standard project
management tools
- Experience using Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
- Experience in oversight of budget, EVM/CAM experience, project
health metrics, and management of project critical path elements
- Assess and status work performed, and perform variance analysis
as required, to understand performance
- Develop and ensure implementation of corrective action plan to
support execution on cost and schedule
- Generate and manage Estimate-at-Complete (EAC)
- Validate costs charged to the control account
- General knowledge of assembly and production processes,
manufacturing capabilities (e.g. structures, wiring, system test),
and data needed for defining delivery configurations (e.g. design
definition, program directives, engineering drawings, change memos,
wiring diagrams, schematics, functional tests, and supplier
data)
- Experience with Constraint Based Scheduling Software (Aurora,
MS Project, etc)
- Experience with NX/Unigraphics and/or other 3D CAD
software
- Experience with Teamcenter Visualization Mockup
- Desire to explore the limits, capabilities and development of
Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality applications for production
system layout, design, and technician trainingTypical Education /
Experience:Bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years'
experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree
with typically 3 or more years' experience in an engineering
classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering
classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree
from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer
science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred,
although not required, accreditation standard.Relocation:This
