Position Summary:
The Division of Finance and Administration (DFA) provides services

Serves as the highest-level subject matter expert for fire and life
safety in campus design and construction, this role has delegated
authority to act on behalf of external regulatory agencies.
Responsibilities include complex EHS duties, collaborating with
organization policymakers to ensure the compliant implementation of
technical programs. Decision-making is guided by the interpretation
of relevant laws, regulations, organizational policies, and
professional best practices across various disciplinary areas.
Specifically at UC Irvine, this position serves as the recognized
subject matter expert on fire and life safety in campus design and
construction. Operating under an MOU with Cal Fire - Office of the
State Fire Marshal (OSFM), the incumbent acts as the OSFM-Lead
Designated Campus Fire Marshal, conducting plan reviews, field
enforcement work, and consultations on fire and panic safety.
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Environmental Health and
Safety, the role guides staff in supporting construction projects,
fire and life safety inspections, and collaborates with public
agencies on mutual fire safety concerns. As a key member of the EHS
Fire and Life Safety Team, this role holds delegated authority to
approve/deny activities impacting the campus' core mission on
behalf of OSFM. The Lead Designated Campus Fire Marshal plays a
crucial role in program development, compliance consultation, and
expertise in fire prevention codes, policies, laws, and regulations
within campus facilities. Additionally, the position provides
mentoring and technical guidance to other team members.

this recruitment is $111,200.00 - $163,100.00 (Annual Salary). The
Full Salary Range for the salary grade this position is assigned to
is $111,200.00 - $215,000.00 (Annual Salary).
