Help keep the Magic of Disneyland Resort alive by maintaining the power-distribution systems that supply electrical power to The Happiest Place on Earth! (Local, Southern California applicants sought - NO RELOCATION OFFERED.) The starting pay rate for this position is $26.69 per hour. This role includes: * Preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of: * Electrical-power-generating-and-distribution systems and assemblies * Power and lighting panels up to the 12-kilovolt level * Installation of new electrical service (adding receptacles, switches, bending conduit) Responsibilities: Corrective maintenance of electrical distribution systems and assemblies * Requires acute troubleshooting skills, knowledge of high and low voltage, the ability to use common hand tools, meters, gauges and other associated test and measurement equipment, which are used for revenue and power-quality monitoring, supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA), and energy-management systems. * Must possess the ability to read blueprints, flowcharts, schematics, and engineering documents. Preventative maintenance * Must have technical electrical competence with the ability to read and understand detailed instructions, and the ability to pass all required compliance, technical and safety training. Will drive company vehicles (requires a valid California Drivers License). Installation of new conduits, wiring, controls, and breakers * Requires the use of basic math, the ability to differentiate colors, and to have an understanding of the National Electric Code. Management of assigned workload through the use of the CMMS system (known as MAXIMO) * Will be required to attend and pass compliance and other associated training to ensure that correct maintenance documentation is completed. This requires computer literacy as well as the ability to evaluate the scope of each job, determine the needed parts and materials, and order through authorized vendors. Maintenance and repair of food preparation and holding appliances and equipment * Must be able to understand and operate under Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines and other food safety/sanitary guidelines. Lamping * Initial installation and replacement of defective lamps. Will carry/use common hand tools and ladders. * Must be comfortable working at heights (some tasks as high as 200 feet) Basic Qualifications: Schedule Availability - Availability to work Sunday through Saturday, any shift (1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift) including holidays, and must be open to any days off. Technical Skills, Abilities and Experience * Journeyman-level experience at a minimum - or completion of four-year apprenticeship or similar accredited training - and experience in power generation, power distribution (5kV or higher preferred), metering and maintenance of life-safety- emergency-power systems (generator equipment and automatic transfer switches) * Knowledge of the nature of electricity and current, and have the ability to measure current, voltage, and amperage * Understanding of circuits, knowledge of motors, and an understanding of controls and how to repair them * Knowledge of National Fire Protection Association codes and standards related to NFPA-70 (National Electrical Codes); NFPA-70B (Electrical Equipment Maintenance); NPFA-70E (Electrical Safety in the Workplace); and NFPA-110 (Emergency & Standby Power Systems) * Knowledge of local health department codes and HACCP guidelines on safe food preparation and handling Preferred Qualifications: * Experience installing and programming intelligent or smart breakers * Experience installing and troubleshooting programmable revenue meters * Experience calibrating analog and digital meters, safety relays or similar devices, such as Cutler Hammer IQ analyzers/GE power quality meters * Experience with supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) * Valid California Drivers License and ability to drive a company vehicle Additional Information:Those assigned to the High-Voltage Electrician position are required to attend an annual Hearing Conservation training class and Lead Awareness class. They are also required to submit to an annual audiometric exam and a semi-annual Lead/Zinc blood test.
